The nice thing about this is it also works in Windows 10.

Re: SunAir Express 2016 Fleet Plan

Dave, Sorry for the delay in responding. When I try to fly by hand it is very difficult to track the glideslope. I can land the plane, but only with great difficulty, though I must admit that my standard practice is to use the ILS to around 500 ft above the runway before going to manual controls. Th...

Re: SunAir Express 2016 Fleet Plan

The Q400 looks like it could be a good addition. However, I have downloaded and installed the freeware Q400 and have yet to have it capture a glide slope. I thought perhaps I did not install correctly, but downloaded and installed again with the same results. The default prop planes that come with ...

Embraer Ejets

Our Zurich Hub uses Embraer E170 for our flights to small European and some African airports. The freeware model is really not very good, but the Embraer is a very interesting aircraft. Brazilian made it is a fly-by-wire aircraft somewhat like an Airbus, yet unique. The freeware version we have avai...

Re: New Flights from Nairobi, Kenya

The new flights we have introduced will allow connections from more African countries to our Zurich Hub. In addition, it will give us as pilots an opportunity to experience African airports serving destinations that are high in altitude (Addis Ababa at 7300 ft, Nairobi at 5600 ft), on large lakes (E...

Re: Poll: What Is Your Primary Flight Sim for SAX Flights?

Sorry that you have had a bad experience with FSX. It does depend upon having a more recent computer with good memory and a good video card. There are some things that can be done which have the potential to improve the importance, one of which is making some modifications to the FSX.cfg file. Jesus...

Re: Poll: What Is Your Primary Flight Sim for SAX Flights?

I have flown FSX now for about 2 years and have had no problem with frame rates. I would like to encourage our pilots to give it a try as the scenery is much more detailed and there are a lot of good aircraft available for FSX. One prime example is the PMDG 737 NGX 800/900 and the same for the expan...

Re: POLL: FSFK Score and Critique

I don't like the FSFK score and critique being posted as I don't think they are accuate. I have had a problem with the rating used for adjusting barometric pressure which is not properly recorded by FSFK for some aircraft. This is acknowledged by the software author. In addition, this probably creat...

Re: Poll: Accelerated Time Mode Usage

I don't think that accelerated time should ever be used. This defeats the idea of having a realistic airline. I have not used it and have flown lots of long distance flights. These just require planning as to when you can devote the amount of time neccessary. Like many others, I take off, climb to c...

Re: Vertical Landing Speed

I have wondered the same thing. Recently my vertical speeds on landing on the A320 have not been good. If I look at a video of the flight afterward they look good. One observation I made was that using the panel that I am, when I am a bit off the ground, say 20-30 ft, and flaring, the First Officer ...

Re: Would you Like to Try Flying with an FMC?

This VAS-FMC panel is really a sophisticated A320 panel which can also be used with other aircraft. There is a guage version which is a great free A320 panel, if you have patience to deal with getting it to to load. It can be integrated into our SAX A320 aircraft, though It sometimes will not load p...

Re: Get Dave Vega Home From Baghdad Flights - 01Feb2008

It's winter and the weather is acting that way. Welcomed Col. Vega on board and left Frankfurt ontime with light snow and stout winds. Unfortunately, we econcountered strong headwinds for the whole trip, some up to 153 kt and this really slowed us down. Even went up to 38,000 to try to get better wi...

I also voted "don't care". Like others, I have the background of flying AS2 when the MD83 was one of the main aircraft. Haven't flown the MD83 recently, though there are some interesting routes which I hope would be continued if the MD83 is retired. I too am looking forward to the completi...
