Re: KTPA MYNN A320 Airbus X Extended

The Aerosoft A320/321 package is very nice. It's not a PMDG, but it is very well done. Biggest challenge is remembering Airbus approach is pilot is managing the aircraft's flight. Boeing is the pilot is flying and the systems are setup for that. First time you put in a flight plan will hurt your hea...

Re: Cargo Routes

I have acquired PFPX so flight planning is a breeze and it even exports a FSX plan. I was thinking about adding some LSZH hub flights to our other hubs (777 and/or 767). I think Zurich needs some more 738 flights too. I've been looking at the Majestic Q400 and I think I'm going to get it, so I'll be...

Tweaks for FSX performance

A friend of mine passed these on - huge improvement. Set your antivirus software to not realtime scan the FSX folder. Flightsim is constantly loading files. With McAfee I have to turn off realtime scanning completely (set to resume on computer restart) Doing this alone bumped me by approximately 75%...

Re: PMDG B777-200 Released for FSX

I'm getting used to the virtual cockpit, hated them, but it is growing on me with the A320 and the 772- i'm now using the virtual in the 737  One quick way to get to the overhead is right click in the windshield, it opens a view menu. same thing coming out of overhead or pedestal view, right cl...

Re: Active Sky Next

Yes on the discount, it was about 10E or so off.

Interesting going into ATL, there was just a hint of light turbulence, amazing difference from the 'old' flight sim turbulence.

Not looking forward to my first windshear experience, or am I

Active Sky Next

It's out and I have to say it is an amazing improvement. Highly recommend it! I was flying around Sao Paulo around thunderstorms. The tops were above FL400, probably around FL450. I'll have to try and get some screen shots. Just flew from DCA to ATL - snowing in Washington, light turbulence through ...

Re: Cargo Routes

ooo, 77F  If you need help on routes Dave I'm willing again, all those EBBR routes in the trash! I would like to expand some of the LSZH ones anyhow, plus we need a few flights from our hubs to LSZH.... And I need a sunair (both flavors) repaint for the PMDG 777 (a must have btw)

Re: PMDG B737 NG2.0 for FS2004

oh do get it, it flies the same way, the learning curve I think is the Flight Management System, but PMDG has awesome documentation. First couple flights will be painful probably, but worth it!

They make the best addons by far, Level D 767 is also top notch.

Re: Should Long-haul Flights Be Graded On-time?

I like Neil's idea. The sliding scale starting at 6hr is good with me. Seasonal differences in wind also justify this I think.

Re: WARNING!!! Suspect Flights in our Schedule

Hi Dave

Flight 58 , N529SX, EBBR - WSSS, block times look good Out 2315Z In 1105Z - this gives 11h50m block time, I did it in 11.6 (11h35m) but it shows me 1.7hour late.

Yes I'm still alive

Also, the hardest thing about making our schedules is that it is static over the entire year (re: winter winds, IFR, etc.) so there has to be a balance in there to keep the majority of our flights on time.
