Re: Poll: Preferred Flight Sim for Your SAX Flights
I have been using both FSX and P3D v4. I find windows 10, 64-bit with P3D keeps me from having crashes.

Re: Windows 10
I have also updated ASN to ASN16 without a problem. I have only flown PMDG aircraft, so I am not sure about others (like my iFly aircraft).

Windows 10
I just updated my iMac (using Windows under Bootcamp) to Windows 10. So far, I haven't found a problem with aircraft, ASN, or other FSX additions. I have yet to try a flight with FSFK. I hope to do that within the next few days. I have noticed that frame rate took a slight hit. I still get from 24 f...

Re: iMac & Bootcamp
I also forgot to mention that I am not sure about using a USB boot drive to load the software. I loaded all my software using the original disks (I bought a Mac disk drive to do that). In the past, I have had to reregister some of my software when I copied some software from an old computer to an ex...

Re: iMac & Bootcamp
My experience with Bootcamp has been very good. I went online and downloaded the software and instructions. Bootcamp is what you would use to partition the hard drive. My only suggestion is when I had Bootcamp partition the hard drive, I did almost a 50/50 split between the Windows Drive and Mac Dri...

Re: Poll: VFR Flight Routes
Keep in mind, VFR flight is more than just following scenery. It involves planning, using the NAV for positioning, etc. Maybe a PPL series of flights can be set up to get PPL certification via Sunair.

Re: 747
Thanks! I have other PMDG models and like their realism. PMDG just put out two upgrades, but I am not sure if they are an improvement from the original model.

Anyone have experience using the PMDG 747 for FSX? I am wondering if it is worth the price.

iMac & Bootcamp
Because of my computer crashing about a month ago, I needed to purchase a new computer. My new computer is a 27" iMac and I used Bootcamp to set up FSX. If anyone has any questions (or needs help) about the use of Bootcamp to partition an Apple computer, let me know. With FSX, I am able to use ...

Unfortunately, my computer architecture won't allow 64-bit. I tried but could only set up 32-bit.

Re: Poll: Preferred Flight Sim for SAX Flights?
I wish I had the computer power to fly FSX. I have put it on my machine, but the frame rate is so poor, I have deleted it. My computer is about 5 years old, but have been able to load Windows 7 (32 bit) and FS9 works quite well. I was able to improve frame rate using Windows 7.

Re: Poll: POC Aircraft Position Maps
I voted no on retaining the maps. This is for two reason:
1. I rarely access the map to view my flight. The flight stats are what I refer to if I have a question.
2. I assume they take up more storage space, which costs more to retain.

Re: Fuel Calculation
Pilots can also find this fuel link on the SAX dispatch page. Look for the Fuel Pump icon next to the Fuel Summary. Thanks. I was aware of that helpful info. I guess what I liked was the variety of aircraft available for fuel calculations (for those flying other aircraft for fun), along with a spec...

Fuel Calculation
Here is a URL for a fairly simple way to calculate fuel use. The URL is http://fuel.aerotexas.com/ Here is a sample of what you get: ===================================================================== Minneapolis/St. Paul to San Francisco // B738_PMDG // 1376.8 NM ---------------------------------...

Re: Poll: VFR Flight Routes
Maybe one way to insure more than one flight per line is to have pilots "earn the right" to go from the right seat to the left.
