Re: How do I get There On Time?
The manual way would be to determine the most optimal cruise altitude for each segment of your flight. For the USA you can find winds aloft data here: http://aviationweather.gov/products/nws/winds/ . There are commercially available programs that get this information for you and propose an optimal f...

Re: Is it really that bad to come in early?
Thank you Marty, I've seen that one also. Pilots that arrive too early because of weather or ATC should just gate in and then tell me about it. Many of you already do, and most of the time we adjust the flight times. This usually happens with long flights since the winds change seasonally. If we adj...

The Map Tells All
I and others have noticed that some SAX pilots tend to arrive early at their destination and proceed to enter orbits or give city tours from the air. How have I noticed...the map plots the route of flight. What contributes to arriving too early, or outside of your arrival window? Sometimes this is o...

Re: Time to Talk Acceleration?
That's what "manually" means, it doesn't read the data from your flight simulator as FSACARS does. You must enter it manually. So, do keep track of your fuel consumption, how many passengers, etc.

The POC does record manually reported flights. Just follow the prompts and enter the information requested.

Re: SAX textures for Wilco 737/Airbus series
Fred, I will email you the .psd files we have for the Project Airbus A320. Feel free to develop a livery for the Wilco model from them. I would like to offer your work to others. In order to do that, could you email me photos of your work for evaluation. I'm sure you will do a great job, but I must ...

Re: SAX textures for Wilco 737/Airbus series
Thank you Fred. I also downloaded a POSKY B737-700 and tested it on FSX. I used their FSX model files. I also noticed that it takes more effort to fly than other offerings. I also think there's something wrong with how the engine thrust is modeled. For example, on takeoff the airplane wanted to go i...

Re: SAX textures for Wilco 737/Airbus series
Focus on the suitability for the airplane itself within the FSX environment...does it work? How does this model handle compared to the default FSX B737-800? Some have complained the OpenSky B737NG flight model is unrealistic, where OpenSky says it's more realistic than anything else available. Do te...

Re: SAX textures for Wilco 737/Airbus series
Like Marty said, the PMDG B737NG is for FS9. Unfortunately there's no payware B737-700 offering for FSX other than the Ariane model. That one is unreasonably expensive; searching popular forums on this product show lots of controversy. The B737 for FSX offered in our files library is freeware, made ...

Re: SAX textures for Wilco 737/Airbus series
Hello Fred. No textures for the Wilco 737s since they're not the ones we focus on, the B737-700. For their airbus A320, we could do a livery. Do you have the PMDG B737-700?

Time to Talk Acceleration?
No, I don't mean the FSX addon with the same name, but using accelerated mode like x2 or x4, etc while flying for SAX. Is it OK? The old timers know this isn't a new question, but every now and then, specially when we get a wave of new pilots, the topic resurfaces. The current edition of the pilots ...

There some documentation with some of the aircraft available. After you finish installing them, check for a "Docs" forlder within the airplane folder.

Re: Poll: Flight Sim Supported by SAX
Perhaps some do not know that you have to have these programs available to evaluate the applicant's landing video. I would say to limit it to FS9 and FS10.

Re: FSX Default Boeing 737-800 in SAX Livery
Looks good Ken. I'm sure you like it's virtual cockpit, which the B737-700 we offer for FSX doesn't have. I'm amazed there's no commercial B737-700 yet for FSX. Unfortunately the only B737-800s we have are the ones we use on Jim, and those are really BBJ2s. Would you like to paint the default FSX 73...

Ken and all that pioneer this flight, please post your impressions. If you follow the tutorial, note there is a slight difference between the route of flight in the tutorial and the one on your dispatch form. One of the airways used in the tutorial route has changed. The difference is minor. Happy l...

Congratulations Jeff. With those big fuel tanks hope to see you flying in both directions. :) Also hope you become the B747 chief pilot. Learn all you can about flying B747s. Raising Interest in SAX Group Flights
Fellow Captains, If you missed today's group flight, you missed another good one. We flew from the home of the old subLOGIC, Champaign, Illinois, USA, to the busiest airport, at least for a couple of weeks every year, the home of Air Venture at Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA. Except, it really wasn't busy ...
