Re: POLL: FSFK Score and Critique
I wonder what the comments of the recent posts would be if FSPassengers was chosen as a mechanism to submit flight reports instead of FSFK. Many VAs are going this route. Not only do you get critiqued like FSFK, but your passengers have a voice. In addition, you would have to deal with random emerge...

Re: Gates
For the Zurich (LSZH) hub, B737 and E190 aircraft should use Dock/Terminal A. B777 aircraft should use Dock/Terminal E.
In real operations at LSZH, Swiss and Star Alliance partners use Dock A for European flights. Dock E is used for all longhaul flights and all other non-partner airline flights.

Re: The future of SAX
Shawn, This is the normal progression of SunAir moving forward to keep up with the times. If we didn't we would still be submitting pilot reports that consisted of one line of text, either to our hub chief or publicly to a message board as we did in 1992 and a few years after that. I am sure pilots ...

Re: Poll: Accelerated Time Mode Usage
I know that several pilots use third party software that allows the "co-pilot" to take over the flight deck duties. This is a realistic option.

Re: POLL: Max Touchdown Rate Allowed
From Jan 2006: http://www.sunairexpress.com/saxforum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=255 My thoughts: A proper touchdown starts with a stabilized approach, which consists of proper speed for the current aircraft configuration. For every airspeed and aircraft configuration, there is a power setting that wil...

Re: Descent Rate Descrepencies
Jim, First, what is your interpretation of what is being recorded? Is it the average descent rate from cruise to touchdown? From your post, I think this is what you are asking about. In fact, FASCARS and FSFK record the current rate of descent at wheel touchdown. ( ie. -50 being a very soft landing;...

Flight Aware provides real flight routes. Here is the Swiss flight page for KORD-LSZH: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/SWR9 I just used Route Finder and got the following route: KORD DCT KUBBS J547 FNT J94 ECK J546 YQB J560 YRI J568 YGP J572 YJT J581 YQX NATU DOLIP UM142 INSUN UN160 PIGOP UL851 M...

Re: Suspect Flight Time
Jim, The published flight time is good. If you check the flight map for your flight, you will see that you flew to the coast of Africa and then north to Europe. Definitely, not the most direct flight from KORD to LSZH. The reason you made it to LSZH was that you were using unlimited fuel. You...

Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide the overseas routes that use the NATS. These routes change daily, which is why you see: http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/. Check use SIDs, use STARs, Ease transitions and enable NATs or use http://www.flightaware.com to find real routings. Route Links and...

Re: PMDG B737 NG2.0 for FS2004
There is a tutorial in the SAX file library called: 737ngadvtutorialv2.zip
Download it and read it over. Yes, it is more complicated than loading up a FS flight plan in the default GPS and flying, but the time spent will enhance your simming experience.

Re: Is it really that bad to come in early?
There is also a pattern in certain flight logs where pilots who arrive TOO early and then sit on the ground or taxi VERY slowly for 20, 30 minutes or more before setting their parking brake, thus "arriving on-time."

Should the situations where pilots land without any remaining fuel or land with descent rates greater than -500fpm+ be grounds for either discarding the flight report or not crediting the hours flown?
