Re: Shawn Hackler Promoted to B747 Type Rating

Congratulations Shawn. Hope you realize you're now going to be flying left seat in a big airplane. How big? A 747-400 has six million parts, half of which are fasteners. A 747-400 has 171 miles (274 km) of wiring and 5 miles (8 km) of tubing. A 747-400 consists of 147,000 pounds (66,150 kg) of high-...

Re: Preflight Actions

It is a matter of how much do you want to simulate being an airline pilot. Weight and balance is important in any aircraft. When loading the aircraft, Flight Simulator shows is the weight and balance is within limits. One would have to know the aircraft maximum takeoff weight in order not to overloa...

Preflight Actions

I am excited to see how much flying activity there has been in SunAir lately. That's great, hope all the pilots are really enjoying each flight. That many flights have motivated me to take a break from POC programming and simply "go fly." As I was getting ready for my last flight, I starte...

Re: Shawn Hackler Promoted to B767 Type Rating

Congratulations. I'm sure you're looking forward to those long flights. It must be a popular airplane. If you search Google for "B767 photos" take a look at the suggested images that come up. Can you see one that is familiar?

Again Shawn, congratulations.

Visual PMDG 747 Standard Procedure Guide

Here's a visual guide on how to fly your PMDG B747-400: http://smithplanet.com/fs2004/pmdg/ The PMDG B747 is one of the most complicated simulations of a B747 available for the PC. In other words, this isn't a simple, CTRL-E start your engines simulation. If you're not interested in learning about h...

Fred, Trying to remember the last time we talked about this issue. Did you send me the files? I don't recall. Was there an issue with weight and balance? I'm asking because we should just upload this modification to the SunAir Files Library for everyone to have, if you don't mind, but would like to ...

B777 Flights Are Up

Yes, as you can see on the SAX front page, 96 B777 flights are now available for your enjoyment. Thank you for all who tested the B777 on the TPA-JFK run. Most of the flights were reassigned from B747s to B777s, but expect to see new flights in the future that will test the long rage capabilities of...

Bud, that very same form would include a hyperlink that would download a flight plan file. This file is what you would load within the simulator and is used by the simulator GPS to show the route of flight, waypoints, etc.

Re: How do people fly 8-9 hr blocks?

Yes, that's exactly what it does. FSACARS pauses itself and the simulator. This works on FSX and FS9. A very good tool on those loooooooong flights.

No -300s. Preference was given to range; the -200LR has the longest range of all. Hope you enjoy it. I would love to see a PMDG or Level-D commercial offering, but the only thing I see is the PSS (JustFlight) and the WILCO, which was released as a "light" version. With such a popular long-...

Re: Is it really that bad to come in early?

Chris, congratulations on your 20 years of ATC. In 20 years, how many times did you ask a pilot to descend and maintain? :) Could you elaborate on designated windows of arrival for flights. I understand that airliners are told, perhaps sometimes, of a target window for arrival at their destination. ...
