American Airlines Phasing Out MD-80s

I saw this on the NBC Nightly News the other night.

After 23 years, American Airlines is slowly retiring the backbone of its fleet for more fuel efficient planes.

I haved noticed here near KORD, both on my ADS-B receiver and looking overhead, less and less MD80s. More AA B737s and A319/A320 types.
