Last ‘Queen of the Skies’ Rolls Off Line at Boeing

Post by Dave Blake »

December 6, 2022:

The Boeing Company hit a bitter-sweet milestone today: the final 747, number 1,574 rolled out of Boeing’s facility at Snohomish County Airport/Paine Field (KPAE) in Everett, Washington.

The 747 has been in production since September 1968.

The last 747 has left our Everett factory ahead of delivery to Atlas Air in early 2023.

Dave,

Over the years, I've had an opportunity to ride in several L1011, DC10, and B747 - BIG AIRCRAFT! My first was a TWA Lockheed L-1049G Super Constellation. Disappointing to see another legacy pass, too many of them as we age...
Very respectfully,
Chris Blair, SAX800
