Flying in Meters (Russia and China)

Post by chriszdc »

With the new schedule, we have flights through airspace that uses meters instead of flight levels. If your aircraft isn't equiped with the meters display, here is a chart to convert. I also have in Excel format if you want, PM me.

Russian (this includes former territories of the Soviet Union) and Chinese Airspace all flights are in meters

the FL 364 has typo - should be 11100 meters

Thanks for the information Chris. I just did my first flight into Moscow and it was awesome. I was using RadarContact4 for my ATC which gave me the altimeter settting in QNH but altitude was given in Flight Levels, not meters :( , down to 6,000 which was cool. Even without the VATSIM ATC it is a little different flying over here but fun and challenging. Thanks for a copy of the excel spread sheet also. I corrected the error that you reported as well. Thanks again.
