SunAir Express Announces Boeing 777 Service

Postby Dave Blake » Mon May 25, 2009 4:51 pm

TAMPA, Florida: May 25, 2009 /Newswire/ --

SunAir Express, the world’s first virtual airline, announced today that it will be leasing 24 new Boeing 777 aircraft. The the new B777-200 Long Range aircraft will be used to replace many of the routes flown by the older B747 aircraft along with the addition of new routes.

SunAir Express pilots may download the B777 in SAX livery for both FS9 and FSX from the SunAir Express File Library. After installing the B777 aircraft, you will find it in the "Project OpenSky" Aircraft Manufacterer list. Only Pilots with 300+ hours or a B747 Right Seat Rating may fly the B777.

To begin with, only one B777 will be tested until all 24 aircraft arrive. The test route for this B777 will be from KTPA to KJFK and back. Only the following B777 flight numbers are set up on the POC:
- FLT # 9998 - KTPA to KJFK
- FLT # 9999 - KJFK to KTPA
These two test flights will not affect your on-time rating.

We ask the pilots that test the new B777 to post all comments about the new aircraft here including any problems with installation or in flight.

No -300s? They seem to be more of a direct replacement for the 747-400.

No -300s. Preference was given to range; the -200LR has the longest range of all. Hope you enjoy it. I would love to see a PMDG or Level-D commercial offering, but the only thing I see is the PSS (JustFlight) and the WILCO, which was released as a "light" version. With such a popular long-ranger, wonder why we don't have better commercial options.

Holy frijole, I just looked at Boeing's website. -200LR has a 9380nm range - 19 hours in the air! Whew.

With all that time in the air, can you think of some interesting flights? St Louis to Tokyo? How about Atlanta to Beijing? dv
