New SunAir Express Subsidiary: SunAir Europa

Post by Dave Blake »

TAMPA, Florida: 09Aug 2010 /Newswire/ --

SunAir Express VA, the world’s first virtual airline, announced today that effective 13 August 2010 it will close its hub in Brussels, Belgium (EBBR) due to the expiration of a temporary permit to operate in the European Union. European aviation regulations prevent foreign nation air carriers from operating scheduled flights between airports within European counties.

Beginning 13 August 2010, SunAir Europa, a new subsidiary of SunAir Express VA, will begin operations. SunAir Europa will be based at Zürich International Airport in Switzerland (LSZH).

SunAir Express pilots that are currently based at the Brussels hub will be transferred to the Zürich hub. However, they may request a transfer to another hub by contacting Dave Blake.

The SunAir Europa fleet will include the Embraer 190 E-Jet, Boeing 737-800, and the Boeing 777-200LR which will be flown on many new routes. All SunAir Express pilots that are left seat rated for the B190, CRJ2 and B737 will be considered left seat rated for the E190. Download the new Europa livery from the SunAir Express File Library.

The POC will be down Friday evening 13Aug2010 beginning around 8:00 PM EDT for the setup of SunAir Europa. It is requested that pilots refrain from flying during the setup which should only last a couple of hours, sooner if possible. Thank you.
