From the Top of the World

Post by David Vega »

Finally made it to the northernmost airport in the world with public scheduled flights, Svalbard airport (ENSB) in Svalbard, Norway. I haven't been concerned about an approach in a while, but this one broke the streak. Ensure you study the approach before you depart. Here's a pic from the tarmac:

I'm using ENSB scenery for FSX that can be found here or elsewhere on the Internet.

Just Planes released a DVD/Bluray last year that included a trip to/from ENSB.

Thanks Marty. It would be nice to visit that airport in real life. I was looking at the map and it's farther north than Barrow, AK.

I always thought the Thule AB had the Top of the World slogan. I have a certificate somewhere, that I received for my TDY time at Thule, that has the slogan on it. I guess ENSB, at 78N, has Thule beat at 76N.
